30 day delay in regular Zoladex implant. Likely problems

Have been on regular 12 week implants since Nov. 2013. Have experienced two renewal  delays of  12 days without any prooblems but this time the delay was 29 days and I have had some jaw pain after 9 days which has now diminished but after 14 days  have developed   a facial  rash . Has anybody had the same experience and what can be done for the rash?

Help appreciated.

  • Hi,

I am not a medical person but I dont think this should be a problem as when I finished my treatment, the hormone carried on working for longer than its 12 week timescale all though at a slower rate. My specialist told me it would take about a year for the zoladex to flush out of my system.

I was given my zoladex injections by the nurse at my doctors surgery and never had any delay as I was the one phoning up to make the appointment.

I cant help with the rash I'm afaid but I would advise speaking to your GP. Please let us know how you get on.

Sending best wishes and kind thoughts your way, Brian.

  • Turns out to be shingles due to low immune system through chemo from my bowel cancer.

Side effects of medication quite awful but at least does something for the pain. Rash is all around my forehead cheeks and one eye. Had no idea the nerve endings in my head could be so sore.

Like you Brian I NGU Geriatric. Thanks for your post and kep the good work going
