Just had a stent fitted, the night of the op, I was sick to the extent of two litres of blood!
There was never a mention of this possibility at any time. An extra three nights in hospital on various drips, before I was allowed home.

Hi RedMick,
I'm really sorry to hear you were so unwell before the night of the operation but I'm very glad to hear that after an extra three nights in hospital you are on the mend and have been allowed home. Did the medical team say what may have caused this? If you haven't been told maybe you could contact them to find out. You can always chat to our cancer nurses about this as well if you like. You can call them from a UK landline for free on 0808 800 4040 and they're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
How are you feeling now? I hope you are feeling better and are adjusting well to the stent. I'm not sure what you already know about stents but I have found some information on our website that may be useful as it mentions what to expect after treatment and possible side effects.
Kind Regards,
Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
Thanks for that, Steph. No, the medics never made any suggestions or reassurance.
Been to see doc today and the probable causes were explained to my satisfaction.
Slowly adjusting to it, although paracetamol is my friend at the moment.
