Ginny

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the beginning of September, operation took place end of September. they removed my ovaries and womb plus appendix and part of my bladder bowel and colon. I was in ICU for a week then went back to friends to convaless. I am due to start Chemo in a weeks time. I can put up with the pain and discomfort but I have never felt so alone in all my life ((,I am a widow) I am terrified of the chemo. Please if there is anyone in a similar situation who can help please respond. I live in Surrey. many thanks.

  • Hi Ginny,

Sorry to hear that you are feeling so alone at this point. I am also a widow having lost my husband to bowel cancer. I am now going through chemo for bowel cancer as well - it has all seemed a bit like deja-vue!!

I have found that talking to people through the forums has been incredibly helpful. There are so many of us coping with cancer; I was really surprised when I was first diagnosed a year ago. Its been a roller-coaster of a year for me, I've had 3 bowel surgeries, a liver resection and two lots of chemo.

Always up for a chat so please don't feel you are on your own

    Take care   Carrie :)
