  • Welcome to the forum fatmaa.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister's diagnosis and that she's having a tough time with the side effects of chemotherapy. I know you said you're not sure what type of breast cancer your sister has but I have found some general information about breast cancer on our website which may be useful to you at this time.

Many of our members will know what you're going through having been in similar situations themselves and hopefully they will post soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you. If you have any other questions feel free to post in the ask the nurses section of the forum or you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040 (which is free from a UK landline) Monday - Friday between 9a.m-5p.m.

    Best wishes to you both,

  • Hi Fatmaa

It is worrying when someone we love is unwell. There's an old saying; "knowledge is power" and I'm a firm believer in that.

Ask your sister what is happening with her treatment and if she seems vague, then, if possible, accompany her to her oncology appointments. If the service is professional they will be happy to answer your questions.

My partner has Secondary Breast Cancer and has had a tough time. However, it is all made better by understanding the options.

Goid luck. Having someone who advocates for her will help her be more well throughout this experience.
