Advanced ovarian cancer

I've been treated since May, had 8 weekly sessions of chemo, then had a bowel perforation on last day of treatment. Sadly they had to cancel my big operation, should have been last Thursday, they suspected a perforated duodenal ulcer. However I've had my Endoscopy & none found. They've planned to do my next lot of chemo now, & operate in the new year. I'm hoping they will reassess, as my ct scan showed reduction in all cancer & nodules. I'm worried the perforation might have been down to the chemo, or steroids they use? I would prefer my operation to go ahead. I'm on a break from treatment feel well no problems with energy or blood levels, but have to wait for the Team to discuss. Has anyone come across similar experience?

  • Hello Pauline501,

I am glad you are feeling well at the moment  and have good energy and blood levels. Do you know when the Team is going to discuss your situation?

I hope you get to talk to others here who have had a similar experience. If you live in the UK, you are also welcome to ring our nurses on this free number 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and talk things through with them. They are very friendly so don't hesitate to pick up the phone at any point.
