Grade 4 Brain Tumour Not Growing

Hi Everyone

My daughter is 30 and in March last year, a biopsy revealed that her grade 2 astrocytoma brain tumour was now grade 4. She had an MRI scan at around that time, A few weeks later she had a 6 weeks course of radiotherapy and was supposed to have a 6 weeks course of chemotherapy but the chemo was stopped after 3 weeks because her platlets dropped to a very low level. Her platlets have remained low ever since so no more chemo. She had another scan a week ago and her tumour has not grown (in over a year). Can anyone answer these questions:

1. How unusual is it for a grade 4 glioblastoma to show no growth in a year?

2. Is it possible that the constant low platlets are contributing to the lack of growth?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.
