Secondary breast cancer

I was originally diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2012 I had a mastectomy & reconstruction followed by chemo & radiotherapy then at the beginning of this year I was told I had secondary BC on my hip so had a hip replacement & radiotherapy they also said that there was an area of concern on my spine .  Just this Monday oncologist said the area on my spine has gotten bigger and that there's a new spot on the blade of my pelvis which is showing as dense bone.......I'm not sure as yet which treatment I'm going to be having I'm already on arimidex & dunesamab & zolodex......is anyone living with secondary cancer that can help me deal with this? I feel like I've been given a death sentence & I'm so scared there's nothing that will work for me xx

  • Hello Loz,

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get more positive news on Monday. Feeling scared after results is something that I'm sure many of our members here will be able to identify with so please don't feel that you are alone in this. We do have a few regulars here who are living with a diagnosis of secondary cancer and I'm sure that they will be along soon to say hello and offer their words of support.

If you'd like to talk to our nurses about your questions then you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040 (free to call from a UK landline). They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Sending our best wishes Loz,
