Good morning Sara,
Welcome to the forum. We do have quite a few members here in Cancer Chat who have experience with bowel cancer and I'm hoping that by bumping your post back to the top one of them might see it and respond to you.
We do also have a team of nurses here at Cancer Research and if you think it might be helpful to chat with one of them about your husband's diagnosis and treatment then please do give them a call. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040 (free from a UK landline).
Do feel free to come back and post and let us know how things are.
Sending best wishes,
Jenn

Hi Sara,
Don't know if this is helpfull, but i had rectal cancer and was given xeloda, i could't continue with it because it caused me alot of chest pains and my concultant took me off it. Next, i was given another chemo drug called Raltitrexted. I was able to tolerate this well. I wish your husband all the best with his recovery.
consultant didnt suggest any other drug.Having CT scan in two weeks.Hes doing well so fingers crossed.Thank you for your reply.Good luck with your health.
