concerns about cancer treatment

I have had cancer for six years...I have had many operations of which there have always been complications. although the cancer is now spread to the lung i had a course of radio ablation just under two years ago and was put on the wait and see list. I normally have a scan every three months and the last scan indicated the cancer was growing. So since end Feb this  year I have been waiting for  treatment. I have been told I am at a critical stage but so is everyone else. I was contacted by another consultant in the morning who said he would do the radio ablation and then in the afternoon he changed his mind because apparentley there were problems during the originl ablation, of which I knew nothing about. I am way past government guidelines for treatment but for the first time I have lost faith and trust. I have been told I am on a list and I havde just got to wait it out?

  • Hello meadow,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. This is an awful situation to be in and I am sure our forum members will be along soon with some helpful suggestions drawn from their own personal experiences.

Do give our nurses a ring on this free number 0808 800 4040. You can talk to them Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and they may have some thoughts on how to proceed in a case like this. I do hope you don't have to wait too long before you can start treatment!

    Best wishes,
