Hi Sath
No you don't usually have to pay if you go to a hospice. My father spent two weeks at our local hospice, he had excellent care from the dedicated staff and all meals and medication provided, it cost him nothing. He decided he would like to die at home so they made provision for him to return home for the last week of his life, with a nurse calling in twice a day. The patient or their family can make a voluntary donation if they wish but it is not expected. I was so impressed by their work that I now support them on a regular basis. Kim
Hi Sath,
Kim is right, you dont normally pay. My mother went in twice for short periods and the care was excellent like Kim said. They sorted out the pain my mother was suffering; something the hospital couldnt get right. The hospices rely on public donations so like Kim I help where I can. I gave several of my wood turnings to them to sell in their local charity shop, Brian
Thank you Kim. I it comes to mum going in the hospice I will definitely give a donation as I have heard they are wonderful thanks for your time and replying
