Clinical Trial - Daratumumab

My husband has Multiple Myloma & has recently started a clinical trial of Daratumamub. This is an anti-body infusion, as opposed to chemotherapy, as he has to date, had 4 differing cocktails of chemo which have not had much effect. Anyone on the chat line who is one it also? I believe there are just 80 patients in the UK currently on the trial - it would be good if we could compare notes!!

  • Welcome to our forum vchells!

I thought I would bump your thread in the hope that someone else who has also started this clinical trial will spot it and share their experience with you. Who knows maybe one of these 80 patients is on our site? Fingers crossed you get to compare notes!

  • Hi. My mum of 85 has myeloma. She has just had radiotherapy and is waiting for her results. We are visiting her consultant next week to discuss the way forward. At the moment she is suffering with pain in her back and shoulders. Do not know whether this is side effects of radiotherapy or not. I believe she may have to go on a low dosage chemo but I've been reading articles on daratumumab and this drug sounds so promising. How did your husband get on with the trial?  Were the side effects ok?  I would appreciate any information possible. I really hope your husband's myeloma and health has improved . Sorry I couldn't be much help with regards your question.

  • Hello..... My brother is in the process of being excepted for the clinical trials of Daratumumab. He will find out on Monday 13th June 2016 if he had been accepted. I would like to compare notes with anyone already on the trial, please contact me, we could reassure each other!
