Recovering from breast cancer.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2014. After having a lumpectomy and radiation treatment, I felt that I have made a good recovery. However, since my cancer was oestrogen sensitive, I take a daily dose of Letrozole to supress this hormone. Over the past year my joints tend to feel stiff and painful, despite the fact that I try to exercise regularly. Added to this, I am having lots of trouble with my teeth. I've had abcesses and eventually need to have two teeth extracted. Over the Easter period I had an ear infection which led to cellulitus on the right side of my face. I feel that I seem to be very susceptible to infection of late. Is this a common feature for patients with similar conditions?

  • I was diagnosed in 2013 and had chemo and radiation, and am taking tamoxifen.  I have not suffered from too many colds since treatment.  I am really interested in your comments about your teeth, mine too have been causing problems, and have lost one tooth and have gum disease.  I did ask the dentist if the reason my teeth had deteriorated had been because of the treatment, he just said maybe. Prior to treatment my teeth were in good condition.

Hoping someone on here has some advice?

    Take care Diane
