Hair loss

How long does it take hair and eyelashes to grow back roughly

  • Hi, my hair started to grow back when I had five chemotherapy sessions. A very fine prickly stubble. It's now six weeks since I had my last chemo and my hair is about half an inch in length. My lashes and brows still haven't appeared. I now use a shampoo which is meant to accelerate hair growth it's called FAST it has great reviews. Good luck. Audrey

  • Hi  Mary Dolll, yes my experience is the same as Audrey's - your hair grows back at around half an inch each month.  I had my last hair loss chemo at the beginning of June and I ditched the wig at the end of October.  I would say that my hair has come in really thick and by about Feb my hair looked really good as if I'd never lost my hair - just got a funky new haircut!  I used FAST shampoo  as well and my hairdresser said that she thought my hair was better than before!  Eyelashes take a bit  longer  - I got some back by the start of this year - I use Mavala Double Lash conditioner and it has really helped them grow.  In the meantime, Benefit does a really great eyeliner pen which is so easy to apply and I wore it all the time when I had no eyelashes.  Unfortunately, my eyebrows have not returned but I got them tattooed and they are better than the ones I had before - it didn't hurt at all and they are really natural.  It might have hurt my bank balance a little but like the advert says "I'm worth it!!"
