Hey, Is there any one out there with stage 4 breast cancer on TDM1? I am finding it very difficult to tolerate. Has any one had the same reaction. (nausa, throwing up, generally feeling terrible for about a week after infusion)

Hi Mint - yep I did have a course of TDM about 18month ago I think. Sadly it didnt work for me although I know it has helped others.
I think you will find the 'generally feeling awful for around a week' pretty standard with all the drugs and just something we have to come to terms with. There are so many great anti-nausea drugs on the market - make sure that your chemo team prescribe them for you. I have some put through with the infusion - steroids for three days after - and others prescribed for throughout the cycle. Your team should be able to control this for you.
I hope you have a good Christmas and take good care of yourself x
Hi Mint I hope you have managed to find something to make you feel better.
I have just joined and have secondary breast cancer in my spine. I have been on a course of hormone tablets and a hormone drug called Everolimus. It really made mw ill and the Oncologist has stopped it. I have to start TDM1 in January.
I now have a feeling that the cancer has gone to my liver. I went for a CT scan tonight and get the results next Weds.
Scary times waiting Kevin, I hope you are wrong with your feelings. Please let us know how you get on x
