Interleukin 2 (IL-2)

Has anybody had the IL-2 treatment. My consultant has suggested this is the next line of attack, which I'm not looking forward to, not only the nasty side effects, but also having the treatment in Manchester along way from my family.

I'm really worried about it & would like to hear from anyone with first hand experience.

Many thanks

Louise

  • Hello loop74,

It must be stressful to be having the treatment a long way from your family. Do you have any friends in Manchester who could be around for you and have a cup of tea maybe after the treatment?

We have some detailed information on Interleukin 2 and its side effects here. But as there's nothing like reading personal accounts, I thought I would just bump your thread in case we have other people on our forum who have had the IL-2 treatment and want to share their experience of it with you.

I hope it's useful to you!

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Lucie,

Thank you. I have read the info, but as you say its good to hear from people who have had it! I do know a couple of people up there, but maybe not well enough to see me unwell in hospital, as I understand it I'll be an inpatient for a week, then home for a week & then back for another week, sounds gruelling, but I haven't had the consultation yet, so we'll see.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on it for me!
