Hi everyone i have started a new phase on my journey. I went to see a plastic surgeon this week and I'm looking at have a DIEP op, apparantly there is a long waiting list. I had a mastectomy 2 & 1/2 years ago, chemo, rads and one year on herceptin.

It has taken a long time to get to this point but now feel ready for breast reconstruction surgery. It is scary as it is major surgery, I did join the DIEP group of FB, so have been following it closely the good and bad points, so going into it with eyes wide open.

For all of you at the very begining of your journey, you think you won't get through it but you will.

I have been back at work nearly 2 years now, I did have to reduce my hours from full-time to 30 hours due to extreme fatigue which I still suffer with. At the start of my journey I could not even contemplate going back to work.
