Very swollen Belly

Hi, I am new to this but hoped someone could share their experience with me. I have terminal Colon cancer with metastase to liver, lung and bones. I have been getting chemo since Feb 15, i am on my second combination of drugs. In he last 2 to 3 month i have experience very swollen belly. From my Dr response it seem to come from the combination of the tumer and fluid from my liver which is struggling to process what i put in. Has anyone experience this? If you have can you tell me what you do to cope and how this has progressed? It can get very uncomfortable and painful. I know eating very plain food helps a bit but i wondered if there is other options.

    Hi Iza,

I read your post with interest as I am experiencing similar symptoms to you though not as severe.

I too have terminal colon cancer with lung and liver Mets and I've noticed that my tummy is uncomfortable and swollen after eating. This has only started happening in the past few weeks. I will try your suggestion of eating plain food. I haven't seen my oncologist for a while, but will mention my symptoms at my next appointment.

Sorry that I can't offer any solutions, but I will follow your thread in the hope that someone comes along with an answer for us both!

    Take care, Jo x

  • Hi Jo

Don't be sorry, it is nice of you to even respond. I hope you are not too uncormfortable with this.

I have been quite bad the last few days and find myself taking oral morphine to cope at night. A combination of comstipantion and possibly bad choice of food that my body can't cope with seem to have created a nightmare. I have been taking more Laxido and liquid food (soup, protein shakes) to help things along.

Good luck with everything, i hope you feel ok.
