I noticed that nobody has replied to your post. Although I have no experience of your situation or your type of cancer I wanted to pop by and say hello and reasure you that you arent alone. I hope somebody with more relevant experience will come along soon who can relate to your specific situation but in the meantime I hope you feel you can come here to vent your concerns and Im sure lots of people will relate to how you are feeling.
Thank inula, 8v been with the sergeon & he says dukes is the old version of staging , they now use letters & numbers , so I'm now at T3N2M0, which cud be more serious than they thought , the tumor is stage 3 with 2 nodes involved, they won't no until after sergery if they are cancerous or not :(. But in the scans they are swollen, he said it might just be an infection, he did reassure me it was after surgery treatable ..
If it is any help, my husband had a Dukes B tumour near his anus 14 years ago. He is still alive and well and enjoying life. He may have to go to the loo rather urgently from time to time, but he feels that is a small price to pay.
Apart from that, and the need for regular colonoscopies, he is doing very well. The cancer has never returned.
