Hello Webbangela17,
You did well to post here and ask about this email you received. I am not sure who sent that email but it is best to ignore or delete emails like this as you don't know who they are coming from - especially if they claim to be cancer cures.
One very good resource which provides reliable and up to date information on cancer treatments is our website and it explains for example the important difference between alternative therapies and complementary therapies. You can read more about this here. You can also do a search on our site on anything you want to find out more about. This is the link to our patient information page:http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/
Also, if you have any questions about cancer or cancer treatments, don't hesitate to get in touch with our expert nurses on 0808 800 4040 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm - the number is free from UK landlines.
We are also available on the forum any time you want to talk!
Best wishes,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
Hi Angela
Delete any emails you receive like this, I guessing from person unknown to you. Clicking on any links in the email could take you to a booby trapped site which could infect your computer with malware of some type. OR the emails are a scam and at some point you will be asked to pay money.
I'm afraid there are no miracles when it comes to cancer, but being in a good place spiritually will help you through the tough times. If you adhere to a religion then approach your minister, rabbi, imam for spiritual guidance. If you dont adhere take your spiritual strength from your famiy and friends
That's why we have a delete button.
If there was a spiritual cure for cancer, I'm pretty sure it would be the basis for a major religion by now, rather than an email or social media message/share/retweet!
There are a lot of sick people out there who prey on people like us while we are feeling weak and vulnerable. Typically their message is "do X and believe hard enough and you will be cured". If you fail to become cured it is either because you didn't do X enough times or you didn't believe hard enough. X can be anything from mailing $100 to someone in a foreign country to eating a special leguminous vegetable which you can only buy from a specific web address.
'Kim and Lucie have given good advice, which I won't repeat :-)
Good luck!
Dave
