  • Hello and a big welcome to our forum,

Sorry to hear your mum is experiencing pain following surgery. Make sure you mention it to the medical team that is looking after her. If you are based in the UK, don't hesitate also to pick up the phone and ring our nurses on 0808 800 4040 (it's free from UK landlines and most mobile phones).

I was also wondering whether the username you chose happens to be your real name? If it is your real first name and surname, then we strongly advise that it is changed to something more anonymous. You can find out more about how to stay safe on the forum here. Your username can really be anything even 'pineapple' if you wish! If it is your real name and you would like me to change it, just let me know and I will do it for you straight away.

I hope others with experience of adenocarcinoma will be along soon to talk to you.

Best wishes to you and your mum,

  • Poor Mum - she has had a bad time this year with this cancer. Get her to tell the hospital doctors if it's hurting anywhere. They can reduce the chemotherapy dose if they think she is struggling with it. Tell her that we will be thinking of her and all of you this evening. Xx My wife had Adenocarcinoma but in her bowel. Adenocarcinoma simply means that the cancer is to do with a gland of some sort. She had all the treatments including chemotherapy. The chemotherapy was strong and she struggled with it. In the end they reduced the dose and she saw it through. She is okay now - so it's worth pushing on with x
