I had my first session of chemo yesterday and I thought it went really well,I was very apprehensive but didn't have to worry as the staff were brilliant and made you feel very comfortable and laid rest to all mine and my families worries,with a few minor changes to my lifestyle I will be able to lead a fairly normal life,in saying that I'm not sure I had been leading a normal life before the diagnosis of my stomach cancer,maybe now I will,with the right attitude and support of all my friends and family I have every intention of fighting this as much as I possibly am able to.After all there is so much more I want to do.

    Benjii, so pleased it went well, I am sure your first chemo session must be quite nerve wracking. I love your positive attitude and I wish you well in attaining all your dreams.

    Thank you for your kind words,they mean so much to me,I never realised how much support you can get when you just talk to be people about your cancer,its absolutely wonderful xxxx

    How often are you having your chemo, Benjii?  I have to see the oncologist. On 21st april to discuss having chemo, so I will be interested to hear how you are coping.  Do you know which chemo drugs you are having?

    So sorry took so long in answering your post, will be getting my chemo every 21 days,have just had my second session and I must admit did n`t know what to expect but everything has changed so much for me,don`t want to put anyone off, as it`s vital you get the treatment recommended as we are not going to get better without it.I really wished I had come on the chat forum sooner and spoke to as many people as I could as I know now that these forums are so important.xx

    Hi Benjii = yea well done on round two ! It does get tougher as it goes - the chemo cumulates and builds up. However - happily the cancer likes it even less and will hopefully clear off out of your body. Its a dreadful time and just be thankful its warmer and you can chill outside and enjoy our lovewly spring. Its only for a few months - then chemo is done and things will slowly improve. Anne lost about 40% of her hair = but nearly a year on and its grown back and does have good condition.

    Now is a time to ride at anchor and see out the chemo

    Hi, Benjii, sorry to hear you are having some hiccoughs with the chemo.  I am afraid I refused to have it so they have offered me alternative treatment in the way of hormone pills.  They have actually shrunk my main tumour by half.  Of course it is not going to cure me but just give me some quality of life.

    I think it doesnt matter how many people you speak to , everyone has to make their own decision at the end of the day.  I know most people wouldnt agree with what I am doing and my family, I believe, would have wished I had had the chemo.  Who knows who is right.  

    I am sure you will feel better soon, but in the meantime I hope you have spoken to your oncologist for help with the problems you are encountering.
