  • Good luck Andy.

So get all that worrying about everyone else.

  • Hi Andy

I know you're not a churchgoer, and I hope you don't mind me having done this, but I went to Mass this morning and prayed like a bear for you and your wife.

I know you must feel more anxious as the operations approach, but it will soon be over, and you can use all that emotion to concentrate on getting well again.

Live long and prosper, my friend.

  • I know you are going in tomorrow and that Wednesday and Thursday are the big days.

I'll be thinking about you and your wife as you go through it all.

I hope that you will be blessed with a good outcome, and lots of stories to tell your grandchildren.

Love and best wishes to you and the missus.

  • Hi Fiona, your very kind and i would like to thank you for your kind thoughts but at 49 in june and no children cannot see there been any grandchildren but thank you for the prayers/fingers crossed and the good wishs you have sent..! and wish you all the same in return.

  • Well hello to everyone..! im home at last :)  i came home saturday 18th around dinner time and so pleased to be home, for the people that read my post and knew that i only had 6mth if i didnt have surgery and one in three didnt make it throu surgery..! well im still here :) not everything went well as i finished my 2nd major opp on thurs 26th and by the saturday it was confirmed i had meningitis and it cost me a few extra days in hospital but ive got throu it and made it home.

i would like to think i am ok but im not im worse than i expected to be but with luck im going to start getting better over time and keeping my fingers crossed that im going to be ok after my radiotherapy and looking forward to 20-25yrs of life after cancer! well thats what im wishing for anyway, its good to be home and getting back to normality well as near as possible over time! expected recovery of 12mth  just hope its going to be worth it!!!

All the Drs +nurses at sheffield Hallamshire Hospital was fantastic to me and couldnt thank and recomend them enough. good to be back regards Andy.

  • Gosh, you have been through a lot, Andy, but so glad you are back on here to talk to us.  You have certainly been through the mill but let's hope that you are now on your way to a good recovery.  And here's to the next 25 years.

  • Hi Andy

Great to read that you are home and know that the real recovery/treatment starts now for you and just wish you all the very best as you move forward.  Being at home is certainly a good place to be (a little bit of that normality we all crave for at stressful times). Hope you can keep the forum updated as you progress. A day at a time is a cliche I know but perhaps the best way of dealing with everything that has been thrown at  you just now.  Sending comforting hugs to you and your wife. Jules

  • Oh, Andy, it's so good to hear you are ok!

So many of us have been so worried about you!

Wonderful news. Big hugs from me and my family to you and your wife.

I'm so happy! I've had a horrible day (at work) and was feeling a bit down. But your news has changed all that.

    Absolutely brilliant.
