Judy

I had endometrial cancer and therefore had a hysterectomy. The next step is choosing whether to be closely monitored every three months and if it reoccured to then have pelvic radiation. There is a 10-12% chance of it reoccurring. Or, I have brachotherapy and the chances of it returning are 1-2%.

I am concerned about the side effects- the tissue damage to the vagina and coping with vaginal dilators and or sex two/ three times a week! ( I'm a pensioner!).

Has any one gone through this lately?

  • Hello Judy,

I just wanted to welcome you to Cancer Chat and hope that you will meet others here who have had endometrial cancer in the past and could therefore advise you on your options. To make it easier for you to spot who on this forum has had endometrial cancer, I ran a search for you and discovered that someone posted only a few weeks ago whose mum had endometrial cancer and also had a hysterectomy. You can read her thread here

We also have some information on our website on endometrial cancer here and if you ever have any questions on anything, our cancer nurses are always available on freephone 0808 800 4040 Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
