spinal cord compression

I have a spinal cord compression from hodgkins lymphoma. I am numb from the waist down. Has anybody had a similar experience and out of curiosity did the feeling come back? I couldn't walk to start with but I now have the strength in my legs to walk with crutches. I would be greatful for any Info or other experiences on this . Thank you

  • Hi Rhys,

Just to let you know that I have moved your post from Noticeboard to our Living with Cancer topic area. Hopefully this will help with some responses to your post.

We do have some information about spinal cord compression which I have linked for you. Do you have a physiotherapist helping you with your mobility as they may be able to answer some of the questions you might have. You can also, of course, always call our team of nurses. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040 (free to call from a UK landline).

    Best wishes,

  • I do have a physio but unfortunately they can't tell me if I will regain feeling in my legs . I know it depends on how big the tumour is that is compressing against my spinal cords and how much damage it's caused but it would be nice to have some info from past exxperience on this topic. Thank you
