I think i am just dreading the outcome more than anything...

Can i ask, did they know it was CIN after the Colposcopy, or did you have to wait for the biopsy results to definatly confirm?

My smear came back CIN3 so they got me straight in for colposcopy. Was extremely scary as I had a letter on a Saturday morning telling me, "Abnormal results, you must call your Colposcopy clinic URGENTLY to make an appointment. Obviously by Monday I was pooing myself and had been looking online for help. I stayed off google and only used government health websites but still, it left me thinking that if they booked me in within 2 weeks, it was bad and longer than 2 weeks, not too bad. I got through at 10.30 on the Monday to be told an appointment had already been made for that Thursday. I was so panicked by it the poor nurse told me it was CIN3 and that they don't take any chances. I got the histology results two weeks later. The consultant that did my Lletz called me and told me I was very lucky as the carcinoma cells or whatever she called them were found in all of my cervix, but as she had removed it all, I was at no further risk and am back on my 3 yearly smears which was a huge relief. I had a close call, I won't miss a smear again, it had only been a year overdue. It just means either C section or early induction when I have children.

So glad they caught it in time for you! I can imagine what a scary time that must have been for you... First time round I had CIN II and had to have the Lletz which fortunatly sorted the problem. This time as i say is very different thought. Went to GP with problems, doctor wasnt so happy with my cervix, that bled on examination....I suppose like all of us do, im dreading the worst news. I know I shouldnt but im more of a 'think the worst and anything else is a bonus' sort of girl. Anyway tomorrows Colposcopy day after a long 2 weeks of worrying, i am just hoping the doc can shed some light as to what he thinks is the problem. 

oh lol...only just seen this edit...thanks and will let you know how it goes. Thanks for listening. My hubby doesnt seem to understand why i am worrying! So its nice to talk to people that understand.

Just saw your post and wanted to wish you all the best for today.   I don't think men understand when it comes to matters like this - they just don't get it our women's problems and with you having four kids you have no time to yourself.

Well its finally done. Doc was a bit reluctant to do the biopsy at first (before he had even looked!!) as i wasnt due a smear until next year...despite having bleeding issues as told in my first post. He said he would just 'have a look'. So on first glance (before using the microscope) after about 5 seconds he said 'no problem at all, cervix looks perfectly fine. This peed me off a bit as my GP initially said my cervix had looked ok, but wasnt happy when she swabbed me and I bled...hense refering me for colposcopy because of this and other probs..anyway he said 'well i might aswell have a closer look since your here, but only because your here!'....so with that he dabs the first lot of solution on my cervix with cotton wool....then puts more on and i can visably see an area around the hole in the centre of the cervix that is highlighted and bloody (sorry if TMI). Doc starts umming and arhhing to himself and then decides he will do a biospy. But 'not to worry' as he doesnt seem to think there is a problem. He has told me though that depending on the biopsy results, and my pelvic transvaginal ultrasound, he also wants to give me an endoscopy (i think??) a camera basically to check the lining of my womb...... Sooo i dont know what to think??....Would he have told me if he really was concerned do you think? or maybe they cant do that incase they worry someone and biopsy results turned out to be ok?? Has anyone ever be reasured by doc only to find out they were wrong when results came back?? aghhh im doing my own head in, sorry guys! I just want to feel 'well' again...not felt normal with back ache, stomach cramps ect for ages...suppose i will just have to be patient now...not my strongest point ha x
