Hi all,
A fortnight ago today I came to the end of my last twelve week hormone injection (zoladex), which I have been on for two years now for prostate cancer. This treatment brought my PSA down from 70 to 3.18 by the time I started radiotherapy. A few weeks after finishing rads it came down to 0.05 and the a few weeks later still to 0.01 which is the lowest that can be measured. So you could say it has saved my life. On of the side effects apart from the hot flushes I get (which continue to amuse my wife), is I put on almost a stone in weight. My diabetic nurse told me she thought I would lose about half a stone once the hormone treatment finished, but in just two weeks I have already lost that amount without any change in my diet. So I am hopeful I may be able to shed another half stone to get back to my original weight. Don't know if anyone else has experienced this?
Regards Brian.
