Hi,

Just thought I would update this thread. Last time I wrote on here, I had lost about half a stone but since late October, I have been over indulging my self with chestnut and combined with the Christmas food as well, I have put it all back on and more beside so will now have to try really hard to lose weight over the next few weeks. My wife is also taking an interest in my weight so will have to do as I'm told. (No need to ask who's the boss in our house) My excuse is that nuts are good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not that I need an excuse where chestnust are concerned

Good luck with the weight watching! No sneaking to the kitchen for some extra nuts when your wife isn't looking!  You will not be alone in trying to lose a few pounds just now - I will be trying too, ate a lots of sweets with Dad when he was very ill (the doctor told him to, so I figured it was ok for me too), have done a fair bit of this since losing him too though, so trying to lay off them a bit in 2013.    Best of luck to you, Katielouie.

Thanks you for the reply. I only have a few days worth of chestnuts left so will not be having any more till October. My wife is keeping a watchfull eye on me. So hopefully should give me a few months to lose a few pounds. But unfortunately I find it so easy to put weight on but so hard to lose it, unlike the money in our pockets which seems to work in the exact opposite way round.

Hi Brian - that used to be my excuse for eating nuts too because they are good for you.  Going to try and lose some extra pounds myself.  I always say I will but my willpower isn't too good at the minute.  I have another cold and made an appointment to see my doctor next Monday.  They will probably tell me the same as before you are over the wrost of it and keep taking painkillers.  The last time they told me that at the start of November I developed a chest infection and I have had this cold on and off since about nine or ten weeks in total.

How have you been keeping yourself?

I got a new CD for Christmas called Classic Tearjeckers.  That CD should come with a warning.  I put it on to listen to on Saturday night after being to my aunt's funeral earlier that same day.  Well every song I tried to listen to the tears started flowing.  I couldn't even bring myself to listen to Angels by Sarah McLachlin because that would have put me over the edge.  Still no news on the work front just have to wait and see what happens.but according to the whispers it doesn't sound too good

So nice to hear from you again. What with you, Katielouie, and me it sound like we all need to start a slimming club on here.

Sorry to hear you still have a cold, you must be pretty cheesed off with it by now. I know what you say about tear jerker's, a few months ago I got a version of "How great thou art" by Alan Jackson who was one of my mothers favourite country singers and she had this hymn played at her funeral so it has great significance for me. She would have loved his version of it.

Hope the work situation is soon sorted out and that you get good news. Mickied, please get rid of that cold and quickly.

You are so right. But I only have a few chestnuts left now until this years crop come in late October so will reluctantly have to go on the diet. My wife is going to supervise me so I wont be able to cheat for she knows me better than I do myself and is watching me like a hawk with her beady little eyes. (Unfortunately)  Just joking.

Seriously I know I have to slim down for with all my woodworking tools and all my wood in the garage, normally I have to breath out deeply to get in my car which I keep in there when I'm not working. But at the moment if I put on anymore weight, I risk getting wedged in between my car and my woodpile and might have to ask my wife to rescue me, and I know if that happened, she would never let me live that down

Hi , I have another 2 injections. My psa was 43 before radiotherapy in July 2018 it is now 0.1 . I have gained a stone also. I still go to the gym but still carry the weight. When do you know if you are all clear , any info ?
