Hi
Anyone out there with thymic cancer?
I know it's rare and i feel totally alone.
Had 1st dose cisplatin and etoposide nearly 2 wks ago and feel great (always have felt ok). Pain is better - is this good?
Coping quietly but scared

hi hafryn
dont know about your cancer but as i have said before, their are so many different types,so its understandable you are scared, but keeping positive is a good foe to have on your side, so good luck to you on that one,and there are plenty people on here to keep your spirits up and ready to help you along the way,so any time you feel like a chat just pop in,so till the next time take care.

Hi hafryn
The moderators told us about your post and thought we might be able to provide you with some information. We have a page about cancers of the thymus gland on our patient information website here.
It was good to read that your pain was less after the chemotherapy. Chemotherapy can help to reduce symptoms like pain because it can shrink the tumour and stop it pressing on nerves which causes the pain.
Coping when you have a rare cancer can be more difficult and I appreciate it is likely to be much harder to find someone who has been through the same as you. If you have any questions or would like to talk things through please do contact us. We are cancer nurses and are here 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. By the way we are not here over the bank holidays.
Take care,
Jenny (Cancer nurse)
