Ovarian Cancer

Hi,

I was diagnosed with Cancer in March and although we knew it was Cancer its still a shock to be told it. I have had 2  chemo cycles now and have my 3rd at the end of the month. I would love to chat about the chemo side affects to anyone..

  • Ladies I am back,

I am sorry not been in touch before now but I have been quite poorly after the operation. I got an infection last Friday in my Kidney so its put me back again. Rose all I can say about that Hospital is Barbaric ...I have never experienced such poor care in my life. I came out on Monday and its my last day of taking Antibiotics...

I am still full of wind which is painful but I had my staples out yesterday....I am hoping to be up and about properly by Monday, well that is my aim anyway. Not sure why I keep getting infections all the time. The Surgeon said he was pleased with the op and has sent tissue samples to Histology so probably back in a few weeks. I have to start my chemo again soon but will phone them next week now....

I see we have a new lady so Hello to you xxxx Also Rose sorry you picked up that infection ( what are we like )

I will send another message over weekend to you all but Its great to be back... Hi Jackie xxxxx:love:

  • Hi Sweetheart,

Great to hear from you again .Sorry the hospital was awful,I have never been there apart from the chemo dept,I had my op at Prince Philip in Llanelli and it was fab there.Let us know what happened. Hope the infection has gone.I,m sorry i couldnt visit but I dont think you would want hand foot and mouth on top of it all.when you are better we can meet up in carmarthen.Plenty of TLC and cwtching up on the sofa.Take care and so glad to hear from you .

Hope you other girls are OK.

    Rose xxx

  • Hi Eileen, great to hear from you! You do seem somewhat prone to infections but no idea why. Sorry the care was poor that turns a bad situation into a terrible one. Hate to say it but the best 'cure' for wind pains is to move around and be careful of painkillers they bung you up and therefore make it worse! get up and about nut be careful not to push yourself to far - you will feel very tired, nap when you need to, would suggest you don't stay in bed its bad for the blood and bad for chest infections. Hope your enjoying your new house and are lovely and warm.

    Take care

    Lots of love

    Jackie

  • Hi Jackie & Girls,

I am moving about all the time but find I have good days and bad. I have finished my Antibiotics now so will probably begin to feel better, as for pain not taking anymore from today. I have been opening my bowels everyday so far since coming home but that could be the antibiotic so I am sticking with food that helps you go. I go for a sleep everyday at some point as I get really tired.

Its killing me having to sit around in the house when I could be doing so much but I am pottering about and giving my orders. I sold my House yesterday in Manchester ( large reduction ) but at least that's another less thing to worry about. And it means a good Christmas and hopefully New Year. ( fingers crossed )

I haven't caught up on blog yet but will do so I know where you are all up to .

  • Hi there, i too have ovarian cancer. Diagnosed in january this year, had total hysterectomy in march and 6 cycles of chemo. Chemo ended 30th july. Had carbo and taxol so lost my hair. Felt very tired and was constipated until i sorted it out. Remain tired now. Didnt really have any other side effects. Would like to tell you that i am now in remission and trying to get my life back in order. Have only just joined this site but will check in.
