Hi, i,ve never been on a chat site before, i,ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer at 42, came out of the blue and i feel in turmoil, don,t know any details yet other than it,s small, in a lobe and i,m having a lumpectomy tomorrow.....i,m terrified, more waiting for results, i know you will all understand, i,ve got a wonderful husband and familiy but feel sooo alone!! HELP!!
Hello ,
I was diagnosed yesterday with stage 3 breast cancer and to be honest just feel numb and a little angry!! I found the lump in January I went to the doctor who said to come back in 2 weeks to check it was still there as I am 36 so it could be hormonal, it was still there 2 weeks later! The doctor said if I had been over 40 I would have been booked in the next day however I waited 3 weeks for hospital appointmen,t which they had booked incorrectly (only consultation not scan etc) so waited another week for ultrasound in which doctor came in for approx 2 mins scanned and said it was a Fibroadenoma so nothing to worry about. By now we were at the end of February, I had another appointment booked middle of March to see surgeon to go through options in which I decided I wanted lump removed so was given date 4th May!!!! I had the lump removed last week unfortunately they managed to burn me with diathermy machine so spent the last week in agony to then be told yesterday that I infact have cancer and they have taken 5 months to discover it. Is it normal to feel this angry rather than sad? I have great support from all my family and friends but its great to be able to speak to other people who have already gone or are going through this. Caz
hi everyone special hi to Cazgards
so sorry for your experience so far truely a massive *** up ! It is so normal to be angry even when u havent had to go thru that . You r so welcome here we all have different experiences but the main feelings are all the same just at different times!!we help each other so much . read thru some of the old posts.Firstly you will now be looking forward to your recovery talk to your breast care nurse and consultant and be honest with them that your confidence in the system has been knocked. You musten worry that the delay has had an affect on the outcome of this rubbbish disease iam sure it is very unlikely that those few months clinicially make any difference. So now you, your family and friends will cope with whats ahead ,you can do this and we are all here to help .come and rant chat ask whatever you needxxx
get all the info and help available xxlots of love and hugs nina

I like your style .Asda have a good mastectomy bra for £7.50 but they all seem to be soft cups so I cut the slightly padded cups from a bra and put them in the pockets, best of both worlds !!!

I went the doctors as well in january & she said she was referring me for a mammogram. When i got to the hospital it was only a consultation then they referred me for a mammogram & ultrasound,i was lucky as a few days later i was sent for a biopsy.I then had a phone call a few days later to go back.I was diagnosed in february,i had my op on 10th march & just about to start my radiotherapy.I really dont know how iv managed & coped.Im 39 no parents(my mum passed away a few months ago)iv got no sisters only brothers & they been good but its not the same,iv got friends but its just not the same.Im struggling more now than b4 been diagnosed & my op,Now they saying they want me have tests to see if its a gene that runs in the family but iv decided against it,dont know if its cuz of how im feeling right now & thinking that its only just hit me

Hi Spirits,
I cant see that you are moaning at all and even if you were this forum is the right place to do it. Your note to the lovely ladies on here is passing on personal knowledge that I am sure they will all be grateful for especially if they get a pain in their back or side!
Great that you can come on here when feeling angry...thanks for sharing.
Stay cool

You must have had an awful fright.hope you are recovering now.Chemo always has its risks.I was rushed into hospital before Christmas and had 1 litre of fluid removed from around my heart which was caused by the chemo I was on then.If it hadnt been for me ringing my GP and his quick action I would have had a heart atack.I am still weak and lost 2 stone due to it .
Try not to waste energy being angry as these things unfortunately are common side effects.Take time to recover as best you can,not easy with a hectic life but good luck.and you are not moaning, just warning others.
