  • Hi Rose

I would direct that question to a Cancer Research Nurse. You can via this site.

A friend of ours was littered with tumours and they bombarded her with chemo. No talk of operations. That was a year ago. Late last year she had her op and is doing great.

    I'd  ask the nurses.

  • Hey Rose me darlin - Sorry for the rather cryptic message on my blog - its just that I havent told my dad about the extra scan. I'm pretty confident everything will be ok, so I don't want to give him the extra worry! He's a regular follower on the blog so I didn't mention it on there. I go for the ultra super spesh mammagram on Thursday this week and possibly have the biopsy at the same time depending on what they think. Up to now they've stressed that its not ringing too many alarm bells, but as a good Imp from the Brownies I know I should 'Be Prepared!'

I'll keep you posted on here as to what happens.

Thanks for being such a wonderful cyber friend to me and many others on here.

  • Hi all,

I was feeling weak and fed up after chemo on Friday, hardly left my bed. I am so glad to hear a positive tone from caz who I think is amazing to have come this far, and still have such compassion. Chassis, everyone of us here knows that horrible feeling and the early days are the very worst as there are so many questions and so many emotions buzzing around. I couldn't have coped without the lovely people here, we will all do what we can to help you on your way.

Hey Nina, the worst steps are over, all the remarks i have heard is that radio is a breeze compared to chemo, please keep me updated i am still right behind you! I have found some great sites with advice on radio care so if anyone wants the addie to look at chemo/radio skin care let me know!

Tony you say the most wonderful things, as do you Runningdrums, lets not forget these guys who give us ladies a mens point of view are also a real inspiration to our more vain and insecure sides. Couldn't have managed without you.

Runningdrums, just wanted to say, bought two new wigs - both cheapies and have had a ball. Much nicer than the more expensive ones, lighter and softer. Infact, more natural full stop! Have tried practicing with the false eyelashes but oh god they are so fiddly, and drawing on eyebrows has been a giggle - talk about a clown!

When I couldn't cope with all the vanity sides there was so much support, the hair is like duckling downing but grey and sparse, but growing and hearing the experiences here has made it so much easier. It never ceases to amaze me how people cope, not just with this horrible disease but with the other major challenges that get thrown our way whilst in the midst of trying to cope. I send my love to you all and wish i could parcel up some strength and hugs to you - you are not alone.

  • I have been having chemo for incureable secondaries for 2 years now.If the cancer has spread it is sometimes not in the best interest to operate on one area as there is another area to be treated and chemo would have to be stopped for about 6 weeks so they rely on the chemo to treat it all.Treatments are very effective and as you can see go on for many years.

    Good luck

Speak soon Col xx

  • hi colly

its so natural to worry about every ache and pain speak to nurse/or orncologist. I had bit worry 2 weeks ago i didnt tell any family or friends cos i cant stand putting them thru any more . ihave another little lump in other breast i am sure its fine dr not overly worried (well a bit ) but starting radio wed i am also having another ct scan as there was a couple of things on previous scan they wanted to check. hopefully all fine . my husband is completely freaked about the possibility of it coming back but i am not going to let that happen i feel i have spent enough time on thi s ********* disease .

you lot are such a life line thank u all for fab support

    love and hugs xxxxnina
