Hormone meds for breast cancer. Has anyone taken Letrozole? I'm worried about the side effects

I have had a mastectomy  done chemo and am almost finished radiotherapy. My oncologist has recommended taking Letrozole hormone treatment. I have been reading up on it and am worried about the side effects. Has anyone been on this drug and if so how do you feel. Im considering not taking it due to the side effects. If I decided not to take it would it be a big problem. Help!!

  • It's great to hear you've almost finished your breast cancer treatment rileymmca, although I'm sorry for the worry you have about taking Letrozole.

Quite a lot of our members have experience of taking this drug so hopefully some of them will stop soon by to share their experiences and advice.

In the meantime, if it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040. Their helpline is open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to help.

If you haven't done so already, make sure you speak to your oncologist about this as they will be in the best position to address your queries and concerns.

Whatever you decide, we will be here to support you as you keep moving forward on this journey.

    Kind regards,
