  • Hello Wongchop

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with your mental health since starting treatment for blood cancer a few months ago. It can feel overwhelming when you are affected by cancer, and it's common to start to struggle with your mental health during this time.

There is some information on our website about mental health and cancer, which you might find helpful, particularly the section about during and after cancer. I'd really encourage you to talk with your specialist cancer nurse and Consultant about how you're feeling as well. Hopefully, they will be able to offer you some reassurance about treatment and, if necessary, can provide some additional support to help with the anxiety and panic attacks.

In the meantime, if you'd like to talk things through with one of our team of nurses, you're welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can. If you'd like to chat with them, they're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

You've made the first steps in trying to improve this problem Wongchop, and I hope that you'll be able to access the support you need to help you move forward. Keep posting here in the Cancer Chat community if it helps to have a safe space to put down in writing how you're feeling; we're here for you.

    Best wishes,
