Incidental finding of a liver NET - waiting to hear about the next steps

Had my gallbladder out in September and whilst the surgeon was in he found something on my liver, turned out to be a neuroendocrine tumour (NET).

I was told that would'nt be the only one and l would need a PET scan to find the others, l now have two in my small bowel.

I now await to see a surgical consultant in Birmingham next week.

I feel lost, a bit like platting fog or treading water, not getting anywhere, l want to talk, l want to shout what the hell am l suppose to do????

A very warm welcome to Cancer Chat Pennytiger although I'm sorry about the neuroendocrine tumours that have been found on your liver and bowel.

Waiting to find out what happens next must be incredibly nerve-wracking but I hope sharing your thoughts and feelings with our community has helped to relieve some of the stress and anxiety you're experiencing at the moment.

Also, I hope it helps to know that so many of our members know what you're going through right now, so you are not alone Pennytiger, and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

You can find out more about NETs on our website but if it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very well informed and will do all they can to address any other questions or concerns that may be playing on your mind.
