I have been diagnosed with ling cancer caused by asbestos, I was not aware that I had been anywhere it

due to a heart condition Idid not know I had it showed up on ct scan of lungs the constant says treatment would cause me more problems and distress

in the time I have left (6 to 12 months) I am 83 years old have been very fit until now walking my dog for 2hrs a day and on no medication

I do not know weather to push for treatment

I'm really sorry to hear about your lung cancer diagnosis and that your consultant has not recommended having treatment due to your other medical issues. This must have been very difficult to hear and it's completely understandable, and natural, to want to explore other options.

You can find out more about getting a second opinion on our website but if it would help to talk things through with someone, you can give our cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to help.

Hopefully some of our members will offer their thoughts and advice to you soon as well but in the meantime, we're sending you all our support at this very difficult time.
