Lung Cancer is spreading

I have just been told and after just over 2 years of pretty brutal treatment, that my lung cancer has started to spread. I'm devastated as I thought I was winning. My only option is to have a trial, via the hospital in Newcastle. However I need to be at a good fitness level and I do not think I am. I'm so weak and tired now. I have recently completed a short course of radiotherapy to my neck. Has anyone had this and if so where the side effects really severe. Thanks for listening xx

  • Hi Valdy,

It sounds like you've been through an awful lot and I can understand this must have been really difficult to hear.

It's good you are potentially able to have a trial. You mention being at a certain fitness level - if you haven't already, do discuss with your doctor the requirements and what you may need to do for this.

Regarding the radiotherapy question, hopefully you'll get some more replies to your post soon if others with similar experience see it. From the homepage of the forum you can also use the search bar at the top to find other relevant discussions and people to connect with.

We also have nurses available if you'd like to talk things through. You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.
