Shoulder pain for around 3 weeks - I thought it might be the alendronic acid but GP thinks my prostate cancer has gone to the bone. Waiting for x-ray

Having had pain in my left shoulder for around 3weeks I have been to see my GP ,I thought it was likely to be caused be alendronic acid but My GP thinks possibly cancer has gone to my bone . I have read about alendronic acid causing joint pains but Dr thinks as it's only one joint it's not likely. Anybody have any views I am waiting for x-ray at present

I'm sorry to hear about the pain in your shoulder and that your doctor thinks it may be a sign that your cancer has spread to the bone. This must be a very worrying time.

Hopefully some of our members will offer share their thoughts with you soon but if you'd like to discuss this further with one of our cancer nurses, you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to address your questions and concerns.

I hope you won't have to wait too long for your x-ray Macstu, and that the results show the cancer hasn't spread.
