WHY DO I CRY EVERY DAY

I normally give advice on here. Having had my 4th Lung Cancer operation in 5 years.
April 2020 Right upper Lobectomy.
February 2023 left Lung wedge Resection.
July 2025 Left Lung Wedge Resection.
November 2025 Left Lung thoactomy segmentectomy x2 and Lymphadectony.
After the  first 3 operations I have been good in mood. So I don’t understand why I am so weepy after this one.
I am hoping by writing everything down may help and this will just pass.
sorry to waffle on

  • Hello Grandma-2006

I'm sorry to hear about all that you've been through over the past 5 years. It sounds like you've managed very well with your previous surgeries but it's absolutley understandable that things have been a little overwhelming since your post recent operation. The rollercoaster that you've found yourself on since your initial diagnosis certainly can leave you experiencing real lows at times and I know that lots of members here will understand some of how you've been feeling recently.

Hopefully having a safe space here at Cancer Chat to put down in writing how you're feeling will be helpful. We have some information, tips and advice about managing emotions on our website. If you'd like to chat with one of our nurses you're most welcome to give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

It's also worth having a chat with your specialist cancer nurse to let them know that things have been more challenging this time around so that the team can make sure theyare able to support you.

If there is a Maggie's in your local area you could consider popping in for a cuppa and a chat or perhaps some of the online activities aimed at wellbeing that Penny Brohn provide might be something you'd like to consider.

Undoubtedly you've been through a lot Grandma-2006. I hope that you're being well supported by family and friends. Kepe in touch and let us know how you're coping. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
