5FU chemo and growing hair around mouth, chin and nose

Hi,I have been diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2022 and from March 25 diagnosed with recurrence. I am currently under 5FU chemotherapy and I am experiencing loss of of hair (thinning) but at the same time I have just noticed that black  hairs are growing around my mouth, on chin and nose. Does anyone is or has experienced that and why?

    Hair thinning, as you probably know, is a common side effect of chemotherapy, but hair growth can also change. The hair may be a different colour or be curlier compared to how it was before. It's always a good idea to discuss any side effects with your doctor, if you haven't already, and you can read more about Fluorouracil (5FU) on our website.
