Stage 4 - and it's still knocking at the door

Hi All.

I hope you are all well.

2022 stage 1b - removed , with attached lymphs. Outcome - no cancer

2024 March mets stage 4 liver, nodule of lung

October 2024 spread to lymph node - stomach.

I am braf and mek lowest dose as body couldn't manage full dose.

Yesterday I was given the news over the phone that they have identified lesions on the brain.

I am mortified.

I was doing so well, even had some reduction in liver mets.

  • Hello Donhes09,

A warm welcome to our forum. Thank you for coming here and sharing your story and the outline from having it removed in 2022 to the spreads that were identified in 2024. I can imagine it was a real shock to find out that they have now identified lesions in the brain.

I just wanted you to know we are all here for you to support you and listen during this difficult time. Despite these new findings, it's still positive news that you had some reduction in the liver mets and I hope that this will continue and there will be further reduction.

I hope that you will get to discuss soon with your specialist what your options might be for dealing with these brain lesions and that they can explain things a bit more in detail when they next meet you in person as being given the news over the phone must have been a bit unpleasant and didn't give you much time to reflect and ask questions.

I will now let our members who have also been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer come and share their stories and experiences with you.

    Best wishes,
