Lung cancer

I was diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2023. I had no symptoms so the diagnosis was a total shock, and especially to be told it had already spread to my brain. Had surgery, radiotherapy and chemo in 2024, then 3 monthly monitoring. All OK and I stupidly thought I was cured until April this year when spread to my pancreas was found. Have had 2 rounds of chemo and one combined chemo/immunotherapy. Unfortunately reacted badly to the immunotherapy with liver inflammation so treatment stopped and been in hospital for 2 weeks on IV steroids. Now home on a tapering dose of oral steroids. I feel traumatised by the hospital admission, 26 hours in A&E waiting for a bed. Feel that I am back to square one but worse as no surgical options are available this time.

Sorry for the long post but I would be grateful to speak to anyone who may have unfortunately experienced similar as I am struggling to cope at the moment.

Many thanks.

  • Hi I’m in a bit of a daze having blood tests a week ago and being told I had low vitamin B thinking that was it then my chest cray Wednesday showed an Enlarged area in my lung which I got notified about Thursday morning, then last night getting back from work opened a letter saying urgent referral for suspected cancer lung .. my world stopped and I’m struggling and scared I’m talking to family and friends but can see the upset and fear in them and it’s horrible.. I’ve got to go for ct scan still so I’m praying it’s not but also know it could be and then I’ve got to tell my children. I just need someone to talk to outside my support group I’ve got so I’m not upsetting them seeing my mum and dad cry hurts
