34, stage 3 stomach cancer - FLOT nervous

Hi all,

I was diagnosed 8 weeks ago with stage 3 stomach tumour that was blocking my passage ways to my intestine, I underwent surgery without taking on the chemo due to the urgent need of removal. I had a total gastrectomy.

Despite the new challenges and way of eating and digestion, I now I take on FLOT next week, aiming for a straight 6 sessions over 3 months. I am super nervous, and just have this feeling I will adopt the worst side effects. With pains like broken bones, surgery’s I would consider myself a tough cookie, however as I understand it, chemo is going to be a different kind of challenge.

Any advice or tips on what to expect outside of the normal would be greatly appreciated please, also this is my first time since being diagnosed of reaching out to a peer group. I have been nervous to do so. Wish everyone all the health. Tom x
