determined - 3 years cancer free but I still have weakness in my legs and issues with mobility. Would a walking treadmill help?

hello there, I am Chrissy, I have been cancer free for 3 years now[cervical cancer] although the  therapy worked i have since had a few problems, but most have sorted themselves out. However the weakness in my legs is a big problem, some days I am fine other days my mobility is zero. I have thought about a walking treadmill, manual. do you think this may help. Thanks for reading this.

  • Hello Chrissy and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

It's great to hear you've been cancer free for 3 years now - long may that continue - although I'm sorry about the issues you've been contending with in your legs. It must be very difficult.

I hope this information I've found about exercise and managing walking problems will help but if you'd like to speak to one of our cancer nurses about this, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They will do all they can to answer your questions and offer further support and advice.

If you haven't done so already, it may be worth speaking to your GP and/or medical team (if you are still in contact with them) about this as well as they will be in the best position to advise.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
