Stage 4 breast cancer metastasis

Hi my original oncologist consultant has gone to another hospital and concentrating on those patients for past year and I still have no consultant just locum ones, I feel Iam not getting the care and medications as I'm supposed to have Denusomab every 4 weeks and it keeps getting forgotten plus I have been on paclitaxel for over 20 weeks my calcium is very low and wasn't able to have my chemo this week I take Adcal D3 on a daily basis my finger are tingling and my left foot is tingly and numb can not move my foot the same as my right foot do I need some physio to get full movement back  plus I feel I'm getting missed due to just seeing Locum and not a permanent oncologist?...

  • Hello Cr1-

I'm so sorry to hear that you feel your care has been inconsistent since your original oncologist moved on. It's understandable that you feel things are being overlooked and that there are questions left unanswered.

Do you have a specialist nurse in the unit that you can contact to talk through your concerns with? If not, then do get in touch with the hospital PALS team as it's part of their role to help resolve concerns or problems when you're using the NHS. Hopefully the breast care nurse or the PALS team will be able to give you the answers, information and reassurance you deserve to make sure that your care runs smoothly.

If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses for advice and support you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I hope that you can get some clarity on your questions CR1-. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
