  • Welcome to our forum, Elcid,

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Losing strength, especially in your hands and legs, alongside concerns about tendon issues, is understandably distressing at this stage of your hormone therapy.

According to this information I found on our website about weight and muscle changes while dealing with prostate cancer, hormone (androgen deprivation) treatment often leads to muscle loss and reduced physical strength due to lowered testosterone levels. It can also affect bones, joints, and tendons and some men have reported tendon pain in their hands, wrists, or knees during treatment.

What may help is talking to your healthcare team about ways to support your muscles, tendons, and overall strength.

You’re not alone in this, many men go through similar challenges, and I hope that some of our members who can relate will be here soon to share their experiences and offer advice.

Our nurses too are here if you ever want to talk things over with someone with a medical background over the phone. They’re available Monday to Friday, 9 am–5 pm, on this phone number 0808 800 4040.

I hope this helps a little.

    Best wishes,
