Breast cancer/radiotherapy

I am due to have surgery for breast cancer, a lumpectomy as well as a full lymph node clearance. I am looking for anyone who could advise me or if they have been through this experience, how long after did they have radiotherapy. Also how long did you have to have radiotherapy for? I realise each person's cases are different but just looking for any rough idea would be appreciated.

Hi Mazza10,

I had a mastectomy after chemo, then had 20 sessions of radiotherapy after i had fully healed from the op.

I am in the same position at the moment. I ahve been told that I have to wait 4-8 weeks after the lumpectomy before having radiotherapy and that could be between 5-15 sessions. Obviously as you said everyone different. Hope this helps slightly
