DCIS radiotherapy side effects

Following surgery for DCS high grade breast. I have been advised so far that it will be a 5 day course of radiotherapy. I would just like to know how this is affected people, are they still able to work and get on or does it take it out of you ? Just trying to plan ahead regarding my work  I’m a staff nurse ! And don’t want to take too much time off work, what is there fatigue from day one or is it after five days. I know everyone is different, just trying to get a range of replies. Many thanks for reading and especially replying.

    Hi Sitty, I had the same treatment as you are having in 2023 , I found I was ok during the treatment but was hit by fatigue more in the weeks after. 
    drink plenty of water/juices and moisturise well.

    I joined a gym 5 months post treatment and gradually worked up to cardio classes which made a huge difference to my energy levels. 

    Apart from a small amount of radiation burn under the breast and at the side of the nipple and that healed fast. I did have a very itchy nipple for months.
