Side effects from Nivolumab and Cabozantinib

My father is 70, just had his second round of Nivolumab and is taking daily Cabozantinib.

He's terribly fatigued, walking to the toilet is a struggle. He's very tired and achy and needs to stop every 5 steps for breathlessness. He's gotten so much worse in the last week. Is this normal? Do these symptoms always worsen after infusions or is the next 2 years going to be this hard?

I would love to hear everyone's experiences.

  • Hi BP101,

I'm sorry to hear that your father is struggling - I am sure this must be tough. I wanted to send a reply to your post to give it a little boost, so a few more people should see it and hopefully you'll get more replies.

As moderator Jenn mentioned on your other post, you can also use the search bar at the top to find other relevant discussions.

Do of course discuss with your father's doctor these questions as well, as they will be best placed to advise on what to potentially expect.

Our nurses are also available if you'd like to talk things through at all. You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
