Solitary Fibrous Tumour Small Bowel

Hi there I have been diagnosed with a SFT in the upper left quadrant of the small bowel.  Last week I met with a surgeon who said it was treatable, removeable and curable and radiotherapy was discussed but I've been given an appointment to see a medical oncologist next week. does this mean I will need chemotherapy and not have radiotherapy?  does chemo shrink tumours?  does it mean its inoperable?

  • I'm sorry you've been diagnosed with a solitary fibrous tumour in your small bowel Spud123, but it's great to hear that it's curable.
