Diagnosed with throat cancer 2 years ago. Waiting to have stent fitted but worried about current symptoms, should I contact my GP or wait for hospital appt?

Hi was diagnosed with throat cancer about two years ago was getting it burnt out every two to four weeks missed last treatment as had a chest infection now waiting for a stent as having difficulty swallowing sometimes I get a bad pain I chest when eating things feels like trapped wind last time was almost sick but it was only clear frothy liquid that came up and pain went away does anyone know if this is normal as waiting on appointment for my stent should I contact doctor or just wait on hospital appointment and speak to them about it

  • Hello Handy-man,

I think it would be a good idea to contact your doctor just to ask whether this is normal. As you don't know exactly how long you are having to wait for this hospital appointment, it would be better to seek advice from a doctor first. Do mention it too when you have your appointment so that they are aware that this has been happening.

I hope you manage to speak to someone soon about these current symptoms and that things improve very soon.

    Best wishes,
