Diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia (Cml): anyone else understand or going through similar

Hi I'm not sure where to start but I need to get it off chest , back in February 2023 I got diagnosed stage 1-2 breast Cancer, I had a lumpectomy and Radiotherapy I was lucky they cought it early and got the all clear.

Well in December I got diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia (Cml) after having a routine blood test, they have said it's treatable and hopefully with treatment I should expect to live a good length of time but I was wondering if anyone else has gone through or going through this and would like to chat

I'm just feeling a bit deflated and not sure where to turn

Thank you for reading x

  • Hi KerryLR and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry to hear you've received another cancer diagnosis after getting the all clear from your breast cancer.

I think it's only natural to be feeling a bit deflated after finding this out, so do be kind to yourself Kerry and remember that you are not alone. Our members are here for you and I'm sure some of them will stop soon to tell you more about themselves and their cancer journeys.

You can find out more about CML on our website but if you'd like to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to support you.

We're thinking of you KerryLR and sending all our support your way.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
